On October 17 and 18, 2023, the National Curriculum Development Center participated in the 2nd Annual ICT Job Fair at Kololo Independence Grounds. The event was organized by the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance in partnership with Huawei Uganda. The aim of the fair was to connect young people to potential employers and explore job opportunities, internships, apprenticeships, and training programs in the dynamic ICT sector. On the opening day, President Yoweri Museveni, who was the Guest of Honor at the event, implored young people to be productive and take advantage of opportunities in ICT for self-growth.
The ICT Job Fair allowed NCDC to show how it is helping to prepare learners for the world of work and life-long learning through competency-based curriculum. A team from NCDC exhibited teaching and learning aids, science and technology apparatus, and the virtual resources available on the NCDC website.
The exhibition team interacted with youth to collect feedback on all curricula developed by the Center and the wide range of products and services provided by its own Science and Technology Equipment Production Department (STEPD).
